This is commonly thought to occur because of feeding a floating food and the taking of air while the fish is feeding at the surface. We have found, however, that a more common cause is poor water quality. When a sudden drop in water quality occurs some goldfish may develop Flip Over condition quickly. Once this condition takes place, it is extremly difficult to correct and often is irreversable. Prevention is the key to this problem as you have little chance of correcting it.
